Xbox is gearing up for this year’s Tokyo Game Show, where it will present a special showcase and several attractions for attendees. One of the main highlights will be the first chance to play Minecraft Dungeons II in Japan. The company will also show Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 ahead of its global launch. The Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast will take place on 17 September at 7:00 pm Japan time. On the same day, Xbox FanFest Tokyo for the local community will also be held.

Xbox has prepared a special showcase for Tokyo Game Show

The Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast will begin on 17 September at 19:00 Japan Standard Time, which is 3:00 Pacific Time, 6:00 Eastern Time and 11:00 UK time. The broadcast will be available on Xbox's official channels and on the Tokyo Game Show organisers' YouTube channel. The host will be Misuzu Araki, and Xbox promises a special set of content prepared for this year's event. Viewers will see new gameplay footage and content created specifically for the broadcast. The company has not yet revealed the full list of games that will appear during the presentation. Xbox stresses, however, that the showcase will focus on titles due to arrive on the platform later this year.
This year's presence will also mark more than 20 years of Xbox in Japan. The company notes that Japanese developers and partners across Asia have shaped its platform for over two decades. Xbox will therefore use the Tokyo Game Show not only to present games but also to highlight the importance of the Asian market. The broadcast will also be available with American Sign Language and English audio description. After the show, support will be added for many additional languages, including Polish. The list will include, among others, Arabic, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese. Xbox notes that the audio during the presentation will be a mix of Japanese and English, so viewers can use subtitles.

Minecraft Dungeons II and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 at the trade show

One of the main attractions at the Xbox stand will be Minecraft Dungeons II, which will be made available to visitors at Tokyo Game Show in Japan for the first time. After its earlier debut at gamescom, players will be able to try the next entry in the cooperative dungeon crawler in person. The game lets you return to the world of Minecraft, this time with a new co-op-focused adventure. Minecraft Dungeons II will launch on 29 September 2026 and will be available on Game Pass from day one. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will also appear at the stand. Xbox, together with partner Happinet, will be handling the game's presentation. Visitors will have the chance to try the multiplayer mode ahead of its global release. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 arrives on 23 October 2026. The title will also be featured at Xbox FanFest Tokyo. The Xbox FanFest stand will be located in Hall 6 at position 06-N4. Xbox has also prepared its distinctive black cat motif, which has served as the company's unofficial mascot at Tokyo Game Show for several years. This year the cat will feature prominently in artwork showing an intersection in Tokyo, and fans will later be able to help pick its name. Details about the vote will be shared on Xbox's official social channels.

Tokyo Game Show 2026 will be an opportunity for Xbox to showcase new games and emphasise the importance of the Japanese market. The main draw for visitors will be the first chance to play Minecraft Dungeons II in Japan. Players will also get access to a pre-release multiplayer build of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Xbox's biggest announcements will be revealed during a stream on 17 September at 7:00 pm Japan time.
