MSI expands its range of gaming monitors with the MAG 276QBM34 model. The monitor features a 27-inch Rapid IPS panel, WQHD resolution and a refresh rate of up to 340 Hz. The most interesting element, however, is the QD-Mini LED backlight with 1,152 local dimming zones, which is said to deliver significantly better HDR performance than traditional IPS monitors.
340 Hz and brightness up to 1000 nits
The MSI MAG 276QBM34 uses a Rapid IPS panel with a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels. The maximum refresh rate is 340 Hz in OC mode, while the stated minimum response time is 0.5 ms GtG.
With 1152 Mini LED backlight zones, the monitor can independently adjust the brightness of individual areas of the screen. The manufacturer claims a peak brightness of 1000 nits and DisplayHDR 1000 certification. It also features quantum dots, providing 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space.
Gamers can use AMD FreeSync Premium, Adaptive Sync compatible with G-Sync, and the SLMB feature that reduces motion blur.
Simplified stand and no price
The new model is closely related to the previously revealed MAG 276QRM34. The main difference is the stand, which on the 276QBM34 only allows tilt adjustment. The monitor does, however, support VESA 100 × 100 mm mounting.
It comes equipped with two HDMI 2.1 ports, two DisplayPort 1.4a ports and a headphone output. It also offers Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture functions, as well as a mode that simulates a 24.5-inch screen.
MSI has not yet disclosed the price or the European launch date. It's also unclear when the monitor will reach Polish stores.
