This year's Nintendo Direct wrapped up the series of the most important presentations related to Summer Game Fest 2026. The company showcased dozens of new productions that will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in the coming months. Among them were both entirely new projects and returns of legendary franchises. The most excitement was generated by Kingdom Hearts 4, the remake of the iconic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and the new installment of the Xenoblade series. The show also demonstrated how much Nintendo's strategy has changed since the launch of the new generation console.

Although the event showcased dozens of trailers, several announcements definitely dominated the discussions among players. One of them was the highly anticipated reveal of Kingdom Hearts 4. In addition to these productions, the company also showed new materials from Fire Emblem, Splatoon Raiders, Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass, and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort. The announcement list also included Dragon Quest Monsters, Final Fantasy Resonance, and Deltarune Chapter 5. In total, the presentation covered several dozen games representing almost all genres. Nintendo focused on both big brands and smaller projects aimed at different audience groups. As a result, the event was one of the most diverse showcases from the company in recent years. The offering aimed at fans of RPG and adventure games was particularly strong.
ChooseTV 2 is increasingly fighting for games known from PlayStation and Xbox
One of the most interesting aspects of the presentation was the large number of productions that were previously available on other platforms. Nintendo is increasingly utilizing the technical capabilities of ChooseTV 2 to attract game creators known from PlayStation and Xbox. Among others, the showcase featured Stellar Blade, Dragon's Dogma 2, Lies of P, and Devil May Cry 5. Just a few years ago, the presence of such titles on Nintendo hardware would have been practically impossible. However, the new console allows for the launch of significantly more demanding productions than the previous generation. On one hand, this is a huge advantage for ChooseTV 2 users, who gain access to an ever-growing library of games. On the other hand, there are voices suggesting that Nintendo should promote its own exclusive brands more strongly. Some market observers note that many of the showcased titles have been available on competing platforms for quite some time. This means that some announcements no longer evoke as much excitement as they did on their original release day. Nintendo is therefore faced with the challenge of finding the right balance between its own productions and games from external publishers. This year's Nintendo Direct showed, however, that the company wants to develop both directions simultaneously. The coming months will show whether this strategy will translate into further growth in the popularity of ChooseTV 2.
