1000 Hz in a gaming monitor? KTC has launched the 27M2Pro on the Chinese market, offering a 27-inch Fast IPS panel and two refresh modes. The monitor lets you choose between WQHD at 540 Hz and HD at a staggering 1000 Hz! Interestingly, its price could be as little as 2,000 zł.

Two modes

The KTC 27M2Pro uses a Fast IPS panel with a native resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels. The manufacturer claims a 1 ms GtG response time, 1000:1 contrast and 97% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB coverage. It also supports Adaptive-Sync and HDR400.

The most interesting feature, however, is the Dual Mode technology, which allows switching between two operating modes:

Resolution

Refresh rate

WQHD (2560 × 1440)

500 Hz, up to 540 Hz when overclocked

HD (1280 × 720)

1000 Hz

1000 Hz is impressive, but there's a problem

The maximum refresh rate is only available at a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels. On a 27-inch screen this means noticeably lower image sharpness, which hardly makes sense. HD on a 27-inch monitor can already lead to quite noticeable pixelation. Additionally, achieving 540 Hz in WQHD requires Windows 11. The monitor also offers a special DAC mode which the manufacturer says reduces response time to 0.5 ms. On board it has DisplayPort 2.1, two HDMI 2.1 ports, USB-C with 65 W charging and an adjustable stand.

The 27M2Pro model was already shown in September at the Tokyo Game Show, and has now appeared for sale in China. Its price is 3332 yuan (about 2,000 zł), although with local subsidies it can drop to 2998 yuan, about 1,700 zł.

For now it's unclear when the monitor will reach Poland and how much it will cost in European stores.
