Apple unveiled a new MacBook Pro that, for the first time in the series' history, features an OLED display. Apple calls the PROLED XDR display "the best laptop screen in the world." The new technology offers peak brightness of up to 2000 nits, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and significantly better contrast than previous Mini LED panels.

Tandem OLED with 2000-nit brightness

The new MacBook Pro uses Tandem OLED technology based on two emissive layers. Apple claims brightness of up to 2000 nits in HDR and SDR and a contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1. Importantly, the display can sustain 1000 nits of brightness across the entire panel.

The display supports adaptive refresh rates from 10 to 120 Hz and covers over 80% of the Rec.2020 color space. With OLED technology, each pixel emits its own light, enabling perfect blacks without the bloom typical of Mini LED backlighting.

First MacBook with a touchscreen

Apple also opted for major design changes. The new MacBook Pro features a touchscreen with sensors integrated directly into the OLED panel. It also gains Dynamic Island, previously seen on iPhones.

The laptops are available in 14.2-inch and 16.3-inch versions, with M5 Pro and M5 Max processors. The displays are produced by Samsung Display, using a new 8.6-generation OLED production line.

Polish prices start at 14,999 zł for the 14-inch variant and 17,999 zł for the 16-inch model. Preorders have already begun, and the devices will hit stores on November 6, 2026.
