Microsoft launches a series of new features that genuinely influence how we play. The November update is a mix of AI, improvements for handhelds with Windows 11, new features in Xbox Cloud Gaming, and fresh accessories. The biggest change? Gaming Copilot heads straight to the Xbox app on smartphones and becomes your personal gaming assistant.
Gaming Copilot (Beta) on mobile now available
Gaming Copilot debuted earlier on consoles and PC, and now it’s arriving where we have it most often at hand: in the Xbox app on the phone. Just go to the Gaming Copilot tab and use your microphone or keyboard.
Copilot works in real-time and knows what is happening in your game. You can ask for advice, secrets, tips, builds, and even recall your achievement history. The response is instantaneous, and the answers are contextual, meaning they are tailored to the gameplay.
Full Screen Experience on other devices with Windows 11
The full-screen mode, known from the ROG Ally, is now coming to even more handhelds with Windows 11, as well as to laptops, desktops, and tablets through the Xbox Insider and Windows Insider programmes. The interface is designed for controllers, operates intuitively, and minimises all distractions. In practice, Windows becomes a console: quick game switching, clean layout, zero unnecessary elements.
Streaming up to 1440p and manual resolution selection
If you are gaming in the cloud, Microsoft is adding something that players have long requested: the option to select the resolution before launching a game. You can manually set the streaming and adjust the quality to your internet connection and screen. In selected games, Xbox Cloud Gaming will now support streaming up to 1440p for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.
Xbox Cloud Gaming is expanding to more countries
The cloud expansion is going full steam ahead. Cloud Gaming launches in India
This is the 29th market where cloud gaming is available. In India, users can now stream hundreds of games on phones, PCs, consoles, and compatible TVs.
Support for LG TV and Amazon Fire TV in Brazil and Argentina
Xbox is expanding its infrastructure in South America, reducing wait times for servers and making cloud gaming available on more devices.
Xbox app on more Fire TVs. The Xbox app will soon be available on more Amazon devices, including:
Fire TV Stick 4K Plus
Fire TV Stick 4K Select
Fire TV 4-Series TVs
Fire TV Omni QLED
You install the app, connect the controller, and start the game. Zero console.
Xbox Design Lab with free engraving
From 28th November to 12th December, every controller purchased from Xbox Design Lab can have free engraving. Name, nickname, motto, anything. Microsoft strongly emphasises that the controller is to be as personal as gaming itself.
New accessories: Backbone Pro and limited edition SpongeBob pads
Backbone Pro – Xbox Edition
A controller designed for gaming on any screen: phone, tablet, PC, TV or streaming devices. It supports USB-C and Bluetooth, features ergonomics known from official Xbox pads, and is ready for long mobile sessions.
Limited edition SpongeBob Movie controllers
Two versions are available: the classic Xbox Wireless Controller and the Xbox Elite Series 2. Both feature the iconic smile of SpongeBob and the possibility of personalisation in Design Lab. The film “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants” hits cinemas on December 19th.
The November Xbox update brings a package of real improvements: AI in your pocket, fullscreen mode for handhelds with Windows 11, streaming up to 1440p, entry of cloud gaming into India, and new accessories. This is one of the larger sets of changes in recent months and a solid step towards gaming everywhere and on everything.
