WhatsApp with a new AI assistant for writing messages!

Calendar 8/29/2025

WhatsApp launches Writing Help – an AI assistant that improves style, tone and errors in messages. Privacy is fully preserved.

WhatsApp is introducing a tool called “Writing Help” that suggests how to write a message better – improving the tone, style, and clarity of the text while also taking care of users' privacy.

How does it work?

Just type a message and tap the pencil icon next to the text box. AI will suggest several versions – from professional to humorous, supportive or simply corrected for errors. You can choose a suggestion or stick with the original. Importantly, the recipient does not see that the text has been edited by artificial intelligence.

Privacy First

Meta boasts its own technology "Private Processing". Content is encrypted, transmitted anonymously, and not stored on servers. The company emphasises that neither employees nor third parties have access to messages – and suggestions return without leaving a trace. The feature only works once it has been enabled in the settings.

For business and everyday conversations

WhatsApp is increasingly being used for work or to contact clients, especially through WhatsApp Business. The new feature is designed to help sound more professional, as well as quickly correct typos or grammar – which can be particularly useful when writing in a foreign language.

Availability

“Writing Help” is launching in English on Android and iOS in the USA and several other countries. Meta announces plans to expand to more languages and regions later this year, although a release date for Polish has not yet been provided.

WhatsApp is thus joining Telegram, Google, and Microsoft, which are also developing their own AI in messaging apps. If the idea takes off globally, the way we write messages in our daily lives may change significantly.
