Warner Bros announces a 4K UHD catalogue for 2026. "Gravity", "Ben-Hur" and classics from 1939!

Calendar 12/19/2025

Warner Bros announces its 2026 4K UHD catalog. The slate includes Gravity, Ben-Hur, Gone with the Wind and other classics restored from new scans. Questions are also emerging about the future of UHD Blu-ray amid a possible Netflix acquisition.

Although Warner Bros may soon be acquired by Netflix, the studio is not slowing down when it comes to catalog releases in 4K UHD quality. A strong lineup of classic and newer films has been announced for 2026, which will be released on UHD Blu-ray discs – and most likely also available for streaming in 4K.

The information comes from the Korean distributor of Warner Bros and has been confirmed by the website The Digital Bits. As Bill Hunt points out, this is not yet a complete list – additional titles may be added at a later date.

Warner Bros Film List in 4K UHD for 2026

The list includes both Hollywood classics and newer productions, the oldest of which dates back to 1939. Warner has been actively restoring its archives for years, with some films even being re-scanned in 8K resolution. The confirmed titles for 2026 are:

  • Gravity (2013)

  • Ben-Hur (1959)

  • Gone with the Wind (1939)

  • Interview with the Vampire (1994)

  • Magnolia (1999)

  • All the President’s Men (1976)

  • Eraser (1996)

  • Mars Attacks! (1996)

Particular excitement surrounds Gravity, which UHD fans have been eagerly awaiting for years. The film is set to receive full HDR, personally approved by director Alfonso Cuarón, suggesting one of the most spectacular 4K transfers in the history of science fiction cinema. Equally good news is the inclusion of classics such as Ben-Hur and Gone with the Wind, which could gain a new life in the highest picture quality thanks to new scans and reconstruction. The release dates for each edition have not yet been revealed.

What's next – 2027 and the future of UHD Blu-ray?

Although 2026 looks promising, the future of physical releases from Warner Bros after this period is in question. According to reports, Netflix is set to acquire Warner Bros along with HBO, and the finalisation of the transaction may occur as soon as next year. Netflix has declared its intention to continue theatrical distribution; however, it has not commented on plans for physical media. This is significant because the service – which started as a DVD rental – completely withdrew from disc distribution in 2023, after 25 years of operation.

The package of Warner releases for 2026 is already finalised, which raises the critical question:

whether after 2026 UHD Blu-ray and high-quality 4K VOD releases will continue to be developed, or will they be sacrificed for the sake of streaming?

For collectors and enthusiasts of picture quality, the answer to this question could prove crucial for the future of home cinema.
