Apple is preparing to launch a new version of its headset – according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Vision Air will debut in 2027, which is a lighter and noticeably cheaper version of the Vision Pro. The device is expected to be over 40% lighter than the current model, which weighs around 624 g. This means that the Vision Air could weigh below 450 g – which is less than the average VR headphones available on the market today.
The price will drop by half – approx. 7150 zł
Even more intriguing is the price. Vision Pro costs as much as 3499 USD (approx. 2729 GBP), and according to Kuo Vision Air will be even half the price – which is around 1750 USD (approx. 1365 GBP). This is still more than an iPhone, but already closer to the prices of higher-end MacBooks or the upcoming foldable iPhone, which could open up Apple to a much wider audience.
Titanium construction and new battery
Leaks also mention a titanium internal structure, which will allow for a slimmer device, as well as a thinner casing and a new battery system with a redesigned power module. If these rumours are confirmed, the Vision Air may turn out to be what the SE version was for the Apple Watch – a cheaper, yet still premium alternative.
