Once Human is coming to consoles and it’s doing so with a flourish. The developers have announced the first closed beta for Xbox Series X|S, which will allow players to experience a survival world full of supernatural threats ahead of the release. This is an important step for a game that has been primarily associated with PC until now and is now looking to conquer the console market.
Closed Beta on Xbox: When and What It Offers
The tests will begin at the end of March and will last until the beginning of April. During this time, players will gain access to a portion of the game, including the tutorial and the Manibus scenario. However, this is not the full version; after the tests conclude, there will be a full reset of progress, so everything will start from scratch at launch. Nevertheless, it is worth participating, as the developers have prepared rewards. Reaching a certain level will unlock unique items that will be permanently assigned to your account.
Access to the beta is limited, and you need to sign up through the Xbox Insider Hub. This means that not everyone will be granted access automatically, as the number of places is limited. The whole process is straightforward but requires a few steps in the Xbox system. Once you have signed up and been accepted for testing, the game will be available for download directly from the store. The beta works only on Xbox Series X and Series S and supports only controller input.
Important restrictions and rules
The developers are focusing on controlled testing, which is why there is a ban on streaming and sharing materials from the game. This means that the beta is primarily intended for gathering feedback, not for promotion. The game is available only in selected regions, including Europe and North America. The developers also emphasise that player feedback is crucial, so the bug reporting and suggestion system will be an important element of the tests.
The closed beta of Once Human is the first step towards the console launch. The game wants to test itself on the Xbox and gather player feedback before its full debut.
