New Siri delayed again. Apple pushes back the release of the major update.

Calendar 2/14/2026

Apple is announcing a major overhaul of Siri from 2024 as part of the Apple Intelligence package. The new version of the assistant is expected to become more contextual, intelligent, and closer to chatbots based on large language models. Initially, it was anticipated that the changes would debut with the iOS 26.4 update. However, reports are now emerging of another delay. According to the latest report, some features may be rolled out over time, while certain elements will reach users only in the autumn. This is another signal that the project is facing technical difficulties.

Testing Issues

According to information provided by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple has encountered complications during the testing of new software. As a result, the company is expected to opt for a gradual rollout of features, rather than a one-off launch of a major update. Some new features may only appear in the May release of the system, while more advanced changes might not come until iOS 27.

The planned upgrade is intended to make Siri operate more like modern AI chatbots. Instead of opening a separate application like ChatGPT, the user could simply converse with the assistant within the system. According to previous reports, the new Siri is expected to utilise Gemini language models from Google, highlighting the scale of changes in Apple's approach to artificial intelligence development.

Delays suggest that Apple prefers to refine the technology rather than release an unfinished product. The upgrade to Siri is one of the key elements of the company's AI strategy, which is why the pressure surrounding the project is immense. For now, users will have to wait for further updates and official confirmations of the release date.
