The world of The Lord of the Rings is expanding once again. The plot is set to unfold after the events of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, while also revisiting moments known from the first part of the trilogy. The story will centre around Sam, Merry, and Pippin, who will embark on a journey, with a new significant character being Sam's daughter, who seeks to uncover the mysteries of the past.
The project is backed by individuals well-known to fans of the series. In addition to Jackson, the co-writer of the original trilogy is also returning. An interesting addition is Stephen Colbert, who joins as a co-writer. This may come as a surprise, but he is known as a huge fan of Tolkien's work.
