Mars rebels against Earth. Season 5 of "For All Mankind" with the first trailer.

Calendar 2/25/2026

The cosmic saga from Apple TV+ returns with another chapter. Season 5 of "For All Mankind" promises political tensions, a struggle for power, and an ever-widening divide between the inhabitants of Mars and the governments on Earth. The stakes are rising, and the Red Planet is no longer just an experiment.

Mars no longer wants to listen to Earth

The action of the 5th season takes place in an alternative version of 2012, several years after the so-called “heist” related to the Goldilocks asteroid. The colony Happy Valley has grown to thousands of inhabitants and has become a key base for further expansion in the Solar System. The problem is that countries on Earth want to impose order and their own regulations on Mars. This leads to an escalating conflict. The trailer clearly suggests one thing: Mars is starting to think of itself as an independent world.

The cast includes Mireille Enos, who plays a member of the Martian law enforcement. This is a reunion with Joel Kinnaman, known for his role as Ed Baldwin. Kinnaman returns as the legendary astronaut, this time in an eighty-year-old version. The character is heavily aged using makeup effects, highlighting how far in time the show's story has progressed. In the new episodes, we will also see returning actors, and the season consists of 10 episodes airing weekly from 27 March to 29 May on Apple TV+.

Alternative history that is gaining pace

“For All Mankind” has from the outset told an alternative version of history in which the Soviet Union lands on the Moon first. The effect? A much faster development of the space programme and the colonisation of Mars as early as the 21st century. Season 5 will focus not only on exploration but also on politics, identity, and the struggle for autonomy. Mars ceases to be an extension of Earthly ambitions and begins to build its own future.

The new season promises the most intense episode in the history of the series. The Mars-Earth conflict, new heroes, and a mature Ed Baldwin create a mix that could change the course of the production so far.
