The Little Nightmares series officially enters the world of virtual reality. The announced title "Altered Echoes" will allow players to experience this nightmarish universe for the first time from a first-person perspective. The production, serving as a narrative bridge between the first and second parts of the series, will debut on PlayStation VR2 headsets on 24th April 2026.
New Face of Familiar Nightmares
In Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes, players will take control of the character Dark Six. The plot focuses on her journey through the surreal dimension of The Transmission in search of Six. The creators have prepared a series of locations that fans of the series will recognise from previous installments, but in a much more distorted and threatening form. Among them will be a School, where the Teacher constructs endless mazes from books, and a Train Station, where we will encounter a new adversary, the terrifying Conductor.
The key element of the gameplay will be the interaction with the Positivity Box, which is meant to act as a guide and the only protection against the shadows lurking in the dark. The use of PS VR2 technology is set to provide an unprecedented immersion. Players will have to physically avoid traps and confront Residents, including the fearsome Thin Man, who becomes an even greater threat in the world of virtual reality.
Exploration of Links Between the Past and the Future
Altered Echoes is not just a side project, but an essential part of the entire universe's puzzle. The game aims to shed new light on the relationship between the Dark Six and Six, as well as explain the presence of Guests beyond the deck of The Maw. With a first-person perspective, each of the puzzles and escape sequences will take on a new dimension, forcing users to engage directly with the horror surrounding them.
When will you play Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes?
The title will debut in full version at the end of next month, that is, 24.04.2026, offering a complete campaign designed from the ground up with the capabilities of PS VR2 Sense controllers in mind.
