LG CineBeam S – the smallest UST projector on the market is making a big noise!

Calendar 8/5/2025

LG CineBeam S projector – ultra short throw 4K in a “tea box” size. Autofocus, webOS, HDR10, 154% DCI-P3 coverage and Dolby Atmos included.

Projector manufacturers have been trying for years to convince us that their devices are "compact," but when you have to rearrange half the living room to watch something, the magic disappears. LG has decided to change this and has introduced the CineBeam S – an ultra-short throw projector that is about the size of a tea box but can project a 4K image with a diagonal of up to 100 inches. It only requires 8 cm from the wall. There is no other device on the market that is as mobile and at the same time so functional.

Small size, big possibilities – cinema in your backpack

The CineBeam S was first showcased at CES 2025 and made an immediate impression. It is now available for pre-order in the UK, Europe, Canada, and Australia, although it is still not offered in the USA or Poland. The projector weighs 1.9 kg and measures only 110 × 160 mm. It does not have a built-in battery, so it requires plugging into a socket or a power bank (it comes with a USB-C 65 W power adapter). This does not hinder its appeal – its mobility and ease of setup are impressive. It’s the kind of device you can easily take on a trip, to friends’ houses, or even to the office.

webOS, autofocus, AirPlay 2 and Dolby Atmos – everything you need

On board, you will find the webOS system with Netflix, YouTube and Disney+, a web browser, and support for AirPlay 2 and Screen Share. The image automatically adjusts to the wall – the autofocus and keystone correction work efficiently, and additional colour modes assist with projection on walls of different colours. Although the brightness is only 500 ANSI lumens, the colours are vivid (154% DCI-P3), and the contrast does its job (450,000:1). For cinema enthusiasts, there is HDR10, HLG, Filmmaker Mode, and Dolby Atmos sound – but no Dolby Vision.

Price? Not cheap – but this thing has serious potential

The LG CineBeam S comes in at £1,099 in the UK, which translates to roughly £1,099 worth of sleek design and ultra-short-throw innovation. Sure, it’s not a budget projector, but you’re paying for something truly unique – a compact device that delivers a 100-inch 4K image from just 8 cm away. If you’re short on space but want a proper home cinema vibe without the bulk, this is a strong contender. No other brand has managed to pack this much into such a tiny body. Worth it? If portability and image quality are your thing – absolutely.
