Art, technology and emotions. In the heart of London's art season, LG Electronics has teamed up with artist Do Ho Suh to uniquely honour the legacy of his father – Se Ok Suh (1929–2020), a pioneer of Korean ink abstraction. During Frieze London 2025, the artist's classic works from the People series were translated into digital form and showcased on state-of-the-art LG OLED screens – including the transparent model LG SIGNATURE OLED T.
From Paper to Transparent Screen
Together with his brother, architect Eul Ho Suh, artist Do Ho has created an immersive installation that transports the meditative nature of ink painting into the digital realm. Using OLED technology – with perfect blacks and infinite contrast – each brushstroke gains depth and an almost three-dimensional quality.
Video animations composed of layering lines create an effect of movement and flow of energy, while the transparent screen allows the viewer to "look" behind the image – into the space that Se Ok Suh himself often referred to as the infinite universe.
As Do Ho Suh says:
“When I saw the moment when the OLED screen becomes transparent, I felt how the two-dimensional image transforms into three-dimensional space. It's as if we could see what was previously hidden behind the canvas.”
Art Meets Technology at the National Gallery
After its presentation at Frieze, LG is moving the project to the National Gallery in London, where a special meeting dedicated to the legacy of Se Ok Suh and the contemporary reinterpretation of his work will take place. This is part of a broader collaboration between LG and this prestigious institution – as a partner of Modern and Contemporary Art, the brand supports artists and projects that connect the worlds of art and technology.
As emphasised by Kate Oh, head of Experiential Marketing at LG:
“This is a unique opportunity for the legacy of Se Ok Suh to come alive in a new, digital form. During the London art season, we are collaborating with partners such as the National Gallery and the Korean Cultural Centre UK to inspire creators and art lovers throughout the city.”
ChooseTV Lab: Korean Heritage in a Digital Edition
As part of Frieze London 2025, LG and Korean Cultural Centre UK (KCCUK) also invite you to the interactive exhibition ChooseTV Lab, where visitors can see reinterpreted works by Se Ok Suh on an 83-inch LG OLED evo television. This is a meeting of Korean tradition and contemporary creativity in one place.
The Art of the Future

LG once again demonstrates that OLED TV is not just a screen, but a new medium for art – a space where technology and emotions create a common language.
