Honor – a brand that most associate mainly with smartphones – has just surprised us with a new device. The company showcased its first projector, and in quite an unusual style. The Honor Choice Projector Air is a compact, affordable piece of equipment with a rotating gimbal, AI-powered gesture controls and… a stylus, allowing you to scribble directly on the wall.
Projector that is meant to be cheap, simple and a bit… creative
Honor is making a move in the market for semi-portable projectors at an affordable price. The Projector Air offers a 1080p image, a brightness of 280 CVIA lumens, and a contrast ratio of 2500:1. This is not equipment for watching movies in bright midday sun – rather, it is a device for the “evening” in a darker room. The maximum image diagonal is 160 inches, and the built-in 5 W speaker provides basic sound. On board, we also find:
– Wi-Fi 6
– Bluetooth 5.0
– HDMI
– 1 GB RAM and 32 GB storage
– support for Deepseek AI
– a mobile app and remote control
Gimbal 160° and full automation
The most interesting element of the design is the rotating gimbal – the projector can be lifted almost vertically, directing the image onto a wall or ceiling. In addition, there is autofocus, keystone correction, automatic image adjustment, and obstacle avoidance – all so that the user doesn't have to do anything other than turn on the device.
AI Gesture Control and Stylus
Two unique additions make Honor Choice stand out from the competition. Firstly – gesture control, allowing you to navigate the menu without touching the remote. Secondly – a stylus with which… you draw on the displayed image.
This is an obvious reference to the very old Touchjet Pond projector, which attempted to do the same thing 10 years ago. The effect was amusing then, and the limitations were clear – to draw, you had to stand between the projector and the wall, which meant one thing: a shadow falling on the screen. Honor hasn’t solved this problem because it hasn’t opted for an ultra-short throw projector. But let’s remember – this is an inexpensive device, and an UST would cost multiple times more.
Price that makes the biggest impression
And here we get to the point: the Honor Choice Projector Air costs just 499 RMB. This is a ridiculously low amount for a projector with a gimbal, AI, and stylus. For now, the device will be available for sale in China – it is not known if it will appear in Europe. Price conversion to other currencies:

Summary – a projector for those curious about novelties
Honor is not trying to compete with large laser projectors. The Projector Air is meant to be affordable, simple, and offer new possibilities – especially for those who like to play with technology and do not expect cinema quality during the day. However, if you dream of a projector with AI and a stylus for the price of two dinners out – then this is definitely one of the most intriguing launches in recent months.
