Electronic Arts says STOP to price increases. Battlefield 6 without a higher price – at least for now.

Calendar 7/31/2025

EA confirms no price hikes – Battlefield 6 will launch at current prices. See what CEO Andrew Wilson had to say.

In times when various publishers are raising video game prices to levels of 80 or even 90 dollars, EA has decided... to do nothing. And that's fine. The company has just boasted about its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, which turned out to be better than analysts had expected – 1.3 billion dollars in revenue, which is nearly 5% more than predicted and 3% more than a year ago. And this is just the beginning.

EA is not following in Nintendo's footsteps. Gamers can breathe easy

Fans of Battlefield, The Sims, and "skate." can sleep peacefully. EA's CEO, Andrew Wilson, during a Q&A session with investors, clearly stated that the company is not planning any changes to its pricing policy:

“We are not currently considering any changes regarding pricing, but it's worth noting that we already offer a very broad range of models depending on the product. From F2P games to premium and deluxe editions – our goal is to cover the entire price spectrum to best meet the needs of players.”

Sounds like PR jargon? Maybe a bit. However, if it means that “Battlefield 6” won't cost $89.99 like some new titles on the Switch, it's hard to complain.

Battlefield 6 – EA does not want to scare away with pricing

This move may be more considered than it seems. Battlefield 6 is their biggest upcoming release, and it is clear that EA wants as many people as possible to jump on this train right from the start. A higher price could effectively deter some players, especially after the mixed reception of previous entries in the series.

It should also be noted that EA is balancing various distribution models – alongside classic releases, we have deluxe editions, F2P games, and the EA Play subscription. In other words – something (theoretically) good for everyone.

Multiplayer Presentation Tomorrow

For dessert – tomorrow (1st August) we will finally see more of Battlefield 6. The multiplayer mode showcase is scheduled in several cities: Los Angeles, Berlin, Paris and London. The online broadcast will start at 20:30 Polish time and can be watched on YouTube and Twitch, among others. Get your popcorn ready.
