Aurzen ZIP – a projector that fits in your pocket is now available for sale!

Calendar 4/22/2025

Aurzen is a brand that until recently few had heard of. But during the CES 2025 trade show, it attracted the attention of many observers by showcasing a device that can be described in one sentence: probably the smallest projector in the world. Now this exceptional model – Aurzen ZIP – has gone on sale.

Folded it looks like a Walkman, unfolded like the letter Z

ZIP is not another copy of the Samsung Freestyle or XGIMI projector. It is truly a miniature device that, when folded, resembles an old Walkman or a compact power bank. It weighs just 280 grams and easily fits into a trouser pocket. When unfolded, it takes on the shape of the letter "Z" – three connected panels are responsible for optics (with the smallest DLP chipset in the world), sound (three slim 1W speakers), and power (battery with an anti-slip base). It is an original design aimed at maintaining full mobility without the need for external tripods or heavy mounts.

Humble specifications, clever capabilities

Aurzen ZIP does not compete on specifications – the brightness is only 100 lumens, and the resolution is 720p, which means it is best used in the evening or in dark rooms. The image range is a maximum of about 80 inches, which is more than the average television, but less than full-sized projectors.

However, it is packed with features that enhance usability: automatic keystone correction, quick focus adjustment, and AirLink for wireless image transfer from Android, iOS, and Windows devices. Interestingly, ZIP can display images vertically, making it the perfect companion for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts. Seriously – you can project vertical videos onto a tree stump or the inside of a tent. 😉

The 5000 mAh battery allows for about 1.5 hours of viewing – which is not much, but remember – we are talking about a device the size of a foldable smartphone. Additionally, the projector can be easily connected to a power bank via USB-C.

Price and Availability

The device is already available in the USA for $399, and the gold version is currently being offered on promotion for $379. The manufacturer announces that within a few weeks the ZIP will also reach Europe, Canada and the United Kingdom. Currently, it is in the pre-order phase on the old continent.

This is a piece of equipment that will not impress film enthusiasts looking for HDR and 4K, but for those who often travel, camp, or simply value mobility – it might be ideal. The Aurzen ZIP does not promise a revolution in quality, but it does exactly what it should: allows you to watch films and mobile content in unusual places, with complete freedom.
