Apple has presented the new MacBook Neo, which is set to be the cheapest laptop in the brand's history. The device offers an aluminium construction, a Liquid Retina display, and Apple's custom chip, with a starting price of 2999 zł. The new model has been designed for users who want to enter the Apple ecosystem without the need to purchase more expensive computers from the MacBook Air or MacBook Pro series.
Lightweight, good design and colourful casing
The MacBook Neo features an aluminium casing weighing approximately 1.24 kg, making it an easy-to-carry computer. The laptop is available in several colours, including pink, indigo, silver, and citrus yellow. The manufacturer emphasises that the design has been created with durability in mind, while also maintaining the characteristic minimalist style known from Mac computers. The laptop is equipped with a 13-inch Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2408 × 1506 pixels and a brightness of up to 500 nits. The display also supports a billion colours, ensuring that photos, videos, and applications appear more natural and detailed. The anti-reflective coating further enhances comfort in various lighting conditions.
The heart of the MacBook Neo is the A18 Pro chip, which is designed to provide smooth performance during everyday tasks such as browsing the internet, watching films, or editing photos.
According to Apple, the laptop can be:
up to 50% faster in everyday tasks than popular PC laptops with Intel Core Ultra 5 processors
even 3 times faster in AI tasks performed locally
The computer also utilises the Neural Engine, which supports Apple Intelligence functions and other artificial intelligence-based tools.
Battery for the whole day
The MacBook Neo is said to offer up to 16 hours of battery life, allowing you to use the laptop all day without the need for charging. The device has no fan, meaning it operates completely silently. The laptop is also equipped with a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, two noise-cancelling microphones, speakers with spatial audio support and Dolby Atmos, a Magic Keyboard, and a large Multi-Touch trackpad. The new MacBook Neo is available for pre-order now. Official sales will begin on 11 March. The starting price is £2999, while the educational offer will see the laptop priced at £2499.
MacBook Neo is an attempt to create a more affordable Apple computer. With the A18 Pro chip, Liquid Retina display, and long battery life, the laptop is expected to provide the experience known from MacBooks at a significantly lower price than previous models.
