Apple, along with partners such as BBC, Red Bull, CNN, Canal+, Audi F1 Project, MotoGP, Hybe, and The Explorers, is expanding its catalogue of content in the Apple Immersive Video format. These productions are recorded in 3D 8K HDR, at a 180° angle, using a special Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive camera. The materials are edited in DaVinci Resolve Studio and are available exclusively on Apple Vision Pro. Currently, the headset is only sold in a few countries, but an enhanced version is set to be released in 2025, and a cheaper, sleeker model called “Air” is planned for 2027. Some titles will be available free of charge in the Apple TV app, while others will require a subscription to Apple TV+.
New content proposals – from concerts to extreme sports
The Apple Immersive Video library is starting to gather momentum. Viewers gain access to productions from various genres – from nature and travel documentaries to classical music, extreme sports, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of the K-pop world.
Nature and travel documentaries
In the new format, viewers will be able to:
visit Antarctica with CNN and see emperor penguins up close,
enter the heart of the Daintree rainforest in Australia in the film Julaymba,
fly over Maine in a new episode of the series Elevated, witnessing autumn landscapes in full detail.
Classical music in full immersion
Classical music fans can expect an exceptional experience at the Royal Albert Hall. BBC Proms in Apple Immersive Video will allow you to be right next to pianist Lukas Sternath and be surrounded by the sound of the orchestra in Spatial Audio.
Sports and adrenaline in 8K HDR
Red Bull is launching a series World of Red Bull – in the first episodes, viewers will be transported to the slopes of Revelstoke in Canada and the waves of Tahiti. Additionally, Canal+ has prepared a documentary about MotoGP and Johann Zarco, and Audi F1 Project will showcase the world of Formula 1 in a new dimension.
K-pop in the HYBE edition
Korean music giant HYBE presents CORTIS (Color Outside The Lines) – the first immersive documentary about the new boysband BIGHIT MUSIC, where you can enter the rehearsal room and witness the birth of the choreography for the hit "GO!".
