Apple has unveiled a new MacBook Pro that, for the first time in the history of the series, features an OLED display. The manufacturer calls the PROLED XDR display used "the best laptop screen in the world". The new technology offers peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits, a 120 Hz refresh rate and significantly better contrast than previous Mini LED panels.
Tandem OLED with 2,000 nits brightness
The new MacBook Pro uses Tandem OLED technology, based on two emissive layers. Apple claims brightness of up to 2,000 nits in HDR and SDR and a contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1. Importantly, the screen can sustain 1,000 nits across its entire surface.
The display supports an adaptive refresh rate from 10 to 120 Hz and covers over 80% of the Rec.2020 colour space. Thanks to OLED technology, each pixel emits its own light, allowing for perfect blacks without the bloom associated with Mini LED backlighting.
The first MacBook with a touchscreen
Apple has also made major design changes. The new MacBook Pro gets a touchscreen with sensors integrated directly into the OLED panel. Dynamic Island, previously seen on iPhones, has also been added.
The laptops are available in 14.2-inch and 16.3-inch versions, with M5 Pro and M5 Max processors. Samsung Display is responsible for producing the panels, using a new 8.6-generation OLED production line.
Polish prices start at 14,999 zł for the 14-inch variant and 17,999 zł for the 16-inch model. Pre-orders have already begun, and the devices will arrive in stores on 6 November 2026.
