3 obvious but underrated films on Disney+ that are worth catching up on

Calendar 2/16/2026

Not every good film has to be a global phenomenon. In the Disney+ catalogue, you will find plenty of productions that were "big," but quickly disappeared from discussions. It is often these titles that surprise the most. They are polished, have a budget and notable names, but did not become viral hits. If you fancy something solid, but less exploited – here are three safe, good choices.

Jungle Cruise

An adventurous film in the style of the classic "Indiana Jones", only lighter and more family-friendly. The film with Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt did not become a major event, but it is a very enjoyable, dynamic production with humour and the atmosphere of an exotic expedition. Perfect for a relaxed evening without any pretension.

The Finest Hours

A disaster drama based on true events. The film tells the story of one of the most spectacular rescue operations at sea. Without excessive pathos, but with tension and very solid execution. Few people remember it today, and it is truly powerful cinema.

The Kid Who Would Be King

A modern variation of the legend of King Arthur in a youth version. The film went by largely unnoticed, but it is a fresh, well-made adventure with great energy and decent humour. A great option if you're looking for something lighter, but not childish.

These are not the biggest hits on Disney+, but each of these films offers solid entertainment. "Jungle Cruise" is pure adventure, "The Finest Hours" provides tension based on true events, and "The Kid Who Would Be King" is a fresh take on a well-known legend. If you are tired of obvious blockbusters, these titles may pleasantly surprise you.
