Gamescom 2026 promises to be especially exciting for Xbox fans. Microsoft has confirmed it will attend the show with an expanded booth and a large number of playable demos of upcoming titles. The event will also be an opportunity to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Xbox brand. Visitors can expect more than a hundred gaming stations and many premiere showcases. There will also be developer meet-and-greets and broadcasts for those who can't make it to Cologne. The company promises one of the biggest presentations in its history at gamescom.

More than 25 games and 140 gaming stations await visitors

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox booth at gamescom 2026 will feature more than 25 upcoming games and 140 hands-on stations for testing new titles. One of the biggest attractions will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, whose multiplayer mode can be tried before launch. For the first time the public will also be able to play the campaign for Gears of War: E-Day. Visitors will get the first playable version of Minecraft Dungeons II. Fans of the Fable series will see a special gameplay showcase prepared by Playground Games. Microsoft will also let attendees try METRO 2039, STRANGER THAN HEAVEN and the refreshed Halo: Campaign Evolved. The booth will also feature Forza Horizon 6, showcasing new features and upcoming collaborations. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be there too, with new content inspired by air racing. In total, players will be able to try dozens of titles spanning a wide range of genres. Microsoft emphasises that the event is intended as a celebration of the Xbox community and an opportunity to reflect on the brand’s history. As part of the festivities there will also be special interactive attractions dedicated to 25 years of the console. The programme will be rounded out by meetings with developers and presentations of new trailers.

Live streams and numerous attractions for gamescom attendees

Those who cannot attend the Cologne trade fair will be able to follow the event via streams on YouTube and Twitch. Coverage will begin on 26 and 27 August and will include developer interviews, gameplay showcases and premiere trailers. Microsoft has also announced the return of the Xbox FanFest, which will take place on 26 August at the Xbox booth. The company has prepared a number of accessibility measures for visitors with disabilities. On site there will be, among other things, Xbox Adaptive Controllers, height-adjustable stations and a dedicated quiet zone. Organisers will also provide sign language interpreters and audio description at selected times. The Xbox booth will be located in Hall 7 and will remain open for the duration of the show. Microsoft aims to enable as many players as possible to get hands-on with upcoming releases. This year's gamescom therefore looks set to be one of the most important events for Xbox fans, and everything points to the company having prepared a particularly packed line-up of attractions.

Xbox will mark its 25th anniversary at gamescom 2026 in style. Dozens of playable builds, premieres of new trailers, meetings with developers and a packed programme of online streams make this year’s event a must for fans of Microsoft games.
