MSI has introduced its new MAG 276QE34 gaming monitor, which should appeal mainly to fans of fast-paced games. The monitor features a 27-inch Rapid IPS panel with WQHD resolution, up to a 340 Hz refresh rate and a claimed 0.5 ms minimum response time. It also includes HDMI 2.1 and features that enhance image smoothness.
340 Hz and SLMB Sync technology
The MSI MAG 276QE34 uses a 27-inch Rapid IPS panel with a 2560 × 1440 pixel resolution. The maximum refresh rate is 340 Hz in OC mode, while the specified 0.5 ms is the minimum GtG response time. The monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium and is listed as NVIDIA G-Sync compatible. An interesting feature is SLMB Sync, which allows adaptive sync and motion blur reduction to be used simultaneously. The solution can be particularly useful in fast-paced FPS games.
The manufacturer also specifies 96% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space, a brightness of 350 nits in SDR and up to 400 nits in HDR. The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified, however with the typical 1000:1 contrast of IPS panels you should not expect HDR effects comparable to OLED panels or advanced Mini LED displays.
HDMI 2.1 and limited ergonomics
On board are two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4a and a headphone output. All video inputs support WQHD at 340 Hz. Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture are also available.
A limitation is the stand, which only allows the screen to tilt. The monitor can, however, be mounted on an arm compatible with the VESA 100 × 100 mm standard.
MSI has not yet disclosed an official price or release date. It is also unclear when the MAG 276QE34 will arrive in Polish stores.
