Microsoft may finally sort out one of the biggest complaints about Windows 11. The company is promising a system that will be less intrusive, calmer, and less "salesy" with its own services. This is a response to years of criticism from users who have had enough of constant suggestions and pop-up offers.
Microsoft admits: there were too many ads
Windows 11 has evolved over time into something more than just an operating system. It has become a platform that regularly promotes Edge, OneDrive, Microsoft 365, and Copilot. Suggestions in the Start menu, prompts during setup, and various “hints” have begun to annoy users. Now Microsoft openly speaks about the need to create a “calmer and cleaner system”. This is a clear signal that the company has recognized the problem and wants to fix it.

The most important change is simple: the system will try to sell the user something less often. Fewer promotions in the Start menu and fewer unnecessary notifications are just the beginning. Microsoft is also working on improving performance and streamlining the interface to make everything run faster and be less distracting. There are also plans for other changes, such as the possible removal of the requirement to log into a Microsoft account during installation, the return of the movable taskbar, and better optimisation for devices with 8 GB of RAM. The company may also limit the way it integrates AI so that Copilot is not as intrusive.
Microsoft is clearly changing its approach. Instead of pushing more services, it wants to focus on a cleaner and more user-friendly experience. Ads probably won't disappear completely, but if there are indeed fewer of them, Windows 11 could finally become a system that doesn't get in the way of work.
