Apple is preparing to launch a new version of its headset – according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Vision Air will debut in 2027, which is a lighter and noticeably cheaper version of the Vision Pro. The device is expected to be over 40% lighter than the current model, which weighs around 624 g. This means that the Vision Air could come in at under 450 g – which is less than the average VR headphones available on the market today.
The price will drop by half – around 7150 zł
Even more intriguing is the price. Vision Pro costs a whopping 3499 USD (around 5249 AUD), while according to Kuo Vision Air will be even half as cheap – which means around 1750 USD (around 2625 AUD). It’s still more than an iPhone, but much closer to the prices of higher-end MacBook models or the upcoming foldable iPhone, which could pave the way for Apple to reach a significantly wider audience.
Titanium construction and new battery
Leaks also mention a titanium internal construction, which will help slim down the device, along with a thinner housing and a new battery system featuring a redesigned power module. If these rumours are confirmed, Vision Air could turn out to be what the SE version was for Apple Watch – a cheaper, yet still premium alternative.
