Valve is gearing up to return to the controller segment, and it looks like the new Steam Controller won't be one of the cheapest. According to leaks, its price is expected to be around 99 dollars, which places it higher than many standard pads available on the market.
What the new controller offers
Valve focuses on functionality and unique solutions. The new Steam Controller is set to offer two touchpads, which distinguish it from classic controllers, as well as programmable buttons that allow users to customise the controls to their own preferences. Additionally, it features support for modern technologies, such as HD haptic feedback and hall effect sensors, which enhance precision and durability. The controller is also designed to work both via Bluetooth and a dedicated 2.4 GHz adapter, providing greater flexibility in use.
Price vs Competition
A price point of $99 may be a barrier for many people, especially since there are plenty of cheaper alternatives on the market that offer very good quality.
