TCL lowers the price barrier for "gaming" TVs. The new T7 series is making waves!

Calendar 11/17/2025

TCL’s T7 Series delivers affordable QLED TVs with 144Hz, VRR and Dolby Vision. Gaming-grade performance starting at just $599 – perfect for console players.

TCL is shaking up the mid-range TV segment again – and in a way that the competition will surely dislike. The new T7 QLED series features TVs with Google TV, a fast panel, and gaming functions that have previously been reserved for much more expensive models. And the prices? Surprisingly low. The largest 85-inch variant costs $1399, which is about 1060 pounds.

Sure – it's still over a thousand, but looking at the specifications, it's hard not to consider this a great deal. QLED panels improve colour reproduction, and most models offer 144 Hz with VRR and Auto Low Latency Mode. Only the smallest, 55-inch version is limited to 120 Hz, which is still plenty sufficient for most gamers.

For gamers – to the point

In practice, this means exactly what console gamers need:

– a quick panel,

– stable fluidity,

– less blur and tearing,

– better HDR.

TCL also adds its AIPQ Pro processor, which improves image quality in real time – from scaling to contrast and sharpening details. Plus Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos, a complete package that was previously unimaginable at this price.

Connectivity and System – A Complete Range of Options

Onboard, we’ll find:

4× HDMI, including one supporting eARC,

– Google TV with Chromecast,

AirPlay 2,

– Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant (likely soon Gemini)

– and Apple HomeKit.

Complete data is still missing – TCL has not provided panel brightness – but with QLEDs, it can be comfortably assumed they will shine brightly enough for HDR in the living room.

This is a very good price range for those who do not want (or cannot) spend several thousand on an OLED from Samsung or LG. And when transitioning from an older 60 Hz LCD, the difference will be colossal: brighter HDR, more dynamic movies, and much smoother gaming.

The market is changing – and quickly

There's no denying it – today, not everyone can afford high-end. That's why the "mid-range" segment is becoming increasingly packed, and premium features are flowing down faster than ever. Just a few years ago, a “gaming” TV cost several thousand. Now? TCL is producing models with 144 Hz, VRR and Dolby Vision for under 600 dollars.

The T7 series is another proof that QLED can provide features that not long ago were the domain of much more expensive Mini LED panels. It's still unknown when – and if – the T7 version will officially hit Europe. However, history shows that TCL rarely neglects the UK and European markets, so we will probably see similar models here as well.
