During the CES 2026 trade show, SVS officially announced its entry into the soundbar market, presenting its first line of these types of products under the name R|Evolution. The new solutions aim to combine a compact form with powerful bass and support for Dolby Atmos in the form of virtualization.
The American brand SVS has been associated with high-performance audio equipment for home theatres for years, particularly with powerful subwoofers. This makes the decision to enter the soundbar segment, which inherently limits the enclosure size and the ability to mount large transducers – an area that SVS has largely avoided until now – all the more surprising. However, SVS's move aligns with a broader trend. Recently, other traditional audio brands have also entered the soundbar market, including KEF with the XIO model and Marshall with the Heston 120.
Soundbar SVS R|Evolution
The first SVS R|Evolution soundbar is a 3.1 system consisting of nine drivers. The design can be expanded to a 5.1 or 5.2 configuration with the addition of wireless R|Evolution Wireless Surround Speakers and a second subwoofer.
The soundbar offers a total power of 180 W for the left, right, and centre channels. By default, the set includes a wireless subwoofer with a 12-inch driver and an amplifier with a power of 600 W. Connection to the TV is done via HDMI eARC.
Dolby Atmos without upward-firing speakers
The system supports Dolby Atmos in the form of virtualization, however, neither the soundbar nor the rear speakers have upward-firing drivers. Onboard, there is a dialogue clarity enhancement system developed by Dolby. Although the form of the soundbar is primarily optimized for movies, series, and television, SVS also claims broad support for music. The device supports WiFi, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth, and high-resolution audio up to 24-bit / 96 kHz.
Premiere in the second half of 2026
So far, no official prices have been announced. SVS is announcing the market debut of the R|Evolution series at the end of the second quarter of 2026.
