Roku quietly adds more content to The Roku Channel, making it one of the more interesting free viewing platforms. This time, 6 new channels have been launched, featuring classic sitcoms, reality shows, westerns, and content for Spanish-speaking viewers. Importantly, everything is available for free, without additional subscriptions, which only strengthens Roku's position in the free streaming segment.

Among the newcomers, we find classics like Rawhide and The Beverly Hillbillies, which appeal to nostalgia and older productions, but there are also more contemporary offerings like Ink Master. In addition, there's a channel dedicated to westerns and MTV en Español, which expands the selection for Spanish-speaking users. Overall, this provides a very diverse mix that makes Roku start to resemble classic television, just without the fees.

This is not a one-off move – recently Roku added as many as 16 new channels and is developing partnerships, including with Amazon. The strategy is clear: more free content, greater reach, and competition for paid platforms.
