OLED monitors are set to move up a level in 2026, and manufacturers have prepared an exceptionally wide range of new designs. The market will see both QD-OLED panels produced by Samsung Display and WOLED panels from LG Display. One of the most important additions will be panels with an RGB Stripe pixel layout, which can improve text legibility. Among the new models will be monitors offering very high refresh rates, even up to 720 Hz. Added to that are features such as DisplayPort 2.1, glossy coatings and new anti-reflection layers.
New OLED monitors will get faster
A list compiled by FlatpanelsHD shows the wide range of OLED monitors coming in 2026. Manufacturers are focusing not only on image quality but also on very high refresh rates. Among the new designs there are 1440p models reaching 540, 560, 720, and even 400 Hz for selected panels. Monitors aimed at esports players look particularly interesting, where smooth motion and minimal latency matter above all. An example is the Asus PG27AQWP-W with a Tandem WOLED panel offering 540 Hz and 720 Hz modes. Similar capabilities are expected from models from AOC, Acer, LG and ViewSonic. There will also be fast 4K displays. For some models the refresh rate will be 240 Hz, and some designs will also offer 480 Hz modes. The Gigabyte FO32U24GP and Asus PG32UCWM are among the 32-inch 4K monitors with 240/480 Hz modes. MSI is preparing 4K models whose capabilities reach even 520 and 680 Hz in certain modes. The new lineup will also include ultrawide monitors with 5K2K resolution. The LG 39GX950B and Alienware AW3926QW are said to offer 39-inch curved 5K2K screens with refresh rates up to 330 Hz. This means OLED is no longer a technology associated only with high image quality; it's increasingly entering the segment of the most demanding gaming monitors.
QD-OLED and WOLED will gain new capabilities
Equally important changes affect the panels themselves: new generations of both QD-OLED and WOLED will arrive in 2026. Samsung Display remains the main producer of QD-OLED panels, while LG Display is responsible for WOLED development. One of the most interesting new developments is panels that use an RGB Stripe pixel layout. This solution could potentially improve text sharpness and make OLED monitors more suitable for work. RGB Stripe will appear in selected Tandem WOLED and Penta Tandem QD-OLED monitors. There will also be models with improved anti-reflective coatings. Some manufacturers will instead opt for glossy finishes, intended to deliver a more striking image. Another important trend is the wider adoption of DisplayPort 2.1. The new standard can be found in selected models from ASUS, LG, MSI, Gigabyte and AOC. Particular attention should be paid to the new 32-inch 4K QD-OLED monitors, such as the ASUS PG32UCDM Gen 3, which is expected to offer 240 Hz, DisplayPort 2.1 and peak brightness of up to 1,300 nits. Meanwhile, selected Tandem WOLED models are said to reach as high as 1,500 nits. Manufacturers of the new OLED monitors include Acer, AOC, ASUS, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, LG, MSI, Samsung, ViewSonic and Philips. TCL may also join the OLED panel manufacturers in the future with its own RGB OLED technology. All signs therefore indicate that 2026 will be one of the most important periods in the development of OLED monitors.
Manufacturers have lined up a huge number of new OLED monitors for 2026, covering both QD-OLED and WOLED. The most demanding gamers will get models reaching up to 720 Hz, and in the 4K segment there will be models running at up to 480 Hz. Important new additions will also include RGB Stripe pixels, DisplayPort 2.1, glossy finishes and further generations of Tandem and Penta Tandem panels. Such a wide choice could make OLED an even more attractive alternative to traditional LCD monitors.
