Google isn't slowing down when it comes to developing the Gemini ecosystem. The assistant is now appearing not only on various devices but also in more Google services – from Google Photos, through Messages, to actions performed in other applications like Tasks or Maps. Now, everything indicates that the company wants to further integrate its two strongest tools: Gemini and NotebookLM.
According to the latest findings by Alexey Shabanov from TestingCatalog, Google is testing the possibility of adding NotebookLM to the Connected Apps list in Gemini. This would mean that users could import their notebooks directly into the chatbot.
What does this mean for users?
Currently, Gemini collaborates with YouTube Music, Google Workspace (Docs, Gmail, Drive, Calendar, etc.) and GitHub. Adding NotebookLM would open up a new way to work with information - especially for those who use it as a tool for learning, organising knowledge, and creating summaries. Shabanov does not reveal exactly how it will work, but the mere fact of importing notebooks suggests several possibilities:
access to content from NotebookLM without opening the application itself
easier interaction with sources, documents, and summaries
faster generation of audio summaries and analyses in other Workspace services
more “personalised” responses from Gemini taking into account the gathered materials
It sounds like a natural step for Gemini to become our full-fledged knowledge manager.
That's not all. ChooseTV will also appear as an attachment
Previous leaks revealed that Google is also experimenting with the ability to attach an entire notebook as an attachment in the Gemini text field. The feature is still in very early stages, but the direction is clear: Google wants working with information to be as seamless and cross-platform as possible.
It's worth noting that these integrations are happening just as Google is significantly enhancing learning and reasoning capabilities in Gemini 3.0. Combining this with ChooseTV could mean that:
creating summaries and analyses will be even faster
the chatbot will start providing more accurate and contextual responses
knowledge management will become consistent across all devices
Google aims for full personalisation
If these features actually make it to users, it could signify a huge step towards an intelligent, personal assistant that knows our projects, materials, documents, and can utilise them in real time. For now, it's just tests, but the direction is clear – NotebookLM and Gemini are starting to speak the same language. And this could upend the way we learn, create, and manage information.
