Streaming platforms have once again prepared several big-name premieres for the upcoming days. This time among the new films, we have both spectacular action productions and more serene, emotional stories. The biggest attention, of course, goes to Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which is reaching more viewers after its cinematic release. Alongside it, there are also lesser-known films that may pleasantly surprise fans of independent cinema. Netflix and Prime Video are increasingly mixing big blockbusters with more artistic productions. This way, practically everyone can find something for themselves during the weekend screening.
Aquaman is back with a grand spectacle and underwater chaos
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is undoubtedly the biggest premiere of the entire lineup. The film once again focuses on Arthur Curry, who must face a new threat and protect Atlantis from disaster. The production primarily emphasises enormous scale, spectacular action scenes, and a strongly comedic atmosphere. Warner Bros. clearly aimed to create a more entertaining and laid-back film than earlier DC productions. The film is filled with epic battles, underwater special effects, and dynamic chases. Despite mixed reviews following its theatrical release, Aquaman remains one of the most spectacular superhero franchises of recent years.
Netflix and Prime Video are also focusing on more unusual stories
Alongside big action cinema, there are also much quieter premieres. Propeller One-Way Night Coach is a more intimate production focusing on an unusual journey and the relationships between the characters. A completely different vibe is offered by Miss You, Love You, which is the directorial project of John Travolta addressing themes of loss and grief. The film is set to be a more emotional story centered on family relationships and the struggle to cope with the pain of losing a loved one. Streaming platforms are increasingly showing that they want to offer viewers not only big blockbusters but also more personal and emotional cinema.
