Netflix 22.01: What to watch today? Premieres of "Cosmic Princess Kaguya!", "Finding Her Edge" and "Free Bert"

Calendar 1/22/2026

Today's premieres on the Netflix platform are a true genre mix. Viewers can choose between a futuristic interpretation of Japanese folklore, an exciting drama about figure skating, and an uncompromising comedy about parenting in high society.

Cosmic Princess Kaguya!

Shingo Yamashita, the visionary behind the visual successes of Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man, presents his feature debut. “Cosmic Princess Kaguya!” is a modern tribute to the oldest Japanese fairy tale, translated into the realm of the virtual world Tsukuyomi.

The film stands out with its unique soundtrack created by legendary Vocaloid producers, such as ryo (supercell) and kz (livetune). The story focuses on the relationship between high school student Iroha and the mysterious Kaguya, who build a bond through music in a world where dreams become reality. This is a must-see for fans of dynamic 3D animation and emotional storytelling.

Finding Her Edge

For fans of young adult dramas, Netflix has prepared the series “Finding Her Edge”. The production tells the story of three Russo sisters who fight to save the family legacy – a struggling ice rink.

The main character, seventeen-year-old Adriana, faces a double challenge. On one hand, she is training for the World Championships with a new partner, Brayden, with whom she must pretend to be in a relationship to attract sponsors. On the other hand, she still cannot forget her first love. The series combines sports competition with difficult life choices and a financial struggle for survival.

Free Bert

The third proposal is the comedy series “Free Bert”, starring popular comedian Bert Kreischer. Known for his “eternal party animal” lifestyle, Bert must face the biggest challenge of his career – entering the elite world of Beverly Hills.

When his daughters get into a prestigious private school, Bert is forced to trade in his shirtless image for a suit and impeccable manners. The clash of his wild nature with the rigid rules of high society generates a torrent of comedic situations, raising the question of whether the Russo family can survive in this new, luxurious environment.
