Borderlands 4 i Hell is Us z HDR10+ Gaming. Cyberpunk 2077 i F1 25 już zaktualizowane. Format zdobywa kolejne gry i wsparcie producentów.

HDR10+ is making a stronger entrance into the world of gaming. Following updates for F1 25 and Cyberpunk 2077, other major releases – Borderlands 4 and Hell is Us – will officially receive support for HDR10+ Gaming. A format that not long ago was mainly associated with films and series is now starting to establish its own position in video games.

Dolby Vision vs HDR10+ – the battle for gaming

Although Dolby Vision still holds an advantage and enjoys broader support, with the upcoming Dolby Vision 2 set to bring new optimisations for gamers, HDR10+ is consistently expanding its portfolio. Behind its development is the HDR10+ Alliance, supported by brands like Amazon, Apple, Disney+, Netflix, and Samsung. It is during the IFA 2025 in Berlin that the consortium is expected to showcase the latest advancements in integrating HDR10+ with gaming.

Game list is growing

The first titles to introduce HDR10+ were:

  • The First Descendant

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

  • Cyberpunk 2077

Later, they were joined by: Red Dead Redemption 2, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

In July 2025, Cyberpunk 2077 received update 2.3, introducing support for HDR10+ Gaming on Intel graphics cards. This is an important step, as HDR10+ Gaming is not just a standard HDR implementation – it is a special extension designed for gamers. The format has been optimised for high frame rates, VRR, lower latency and automatic image calibration.

Bill Mandel from HDR10+ Technologies emphasises: “HDR10+ Gaming offers real benefits. Gamers get an automatically optimised image, and developers have the confidence that HDR looks exactly as they intended. It’s plug-and-play HDR with precise contrast, brightness, and colours on all supported devices.”

F1 25, Borderlands 4 and other releases

The HDR10+ update has already been received by EA Sports F1 25, which now supports the format on Nvidia GPUs. Soon, Hell is Us from Nacon and Rogue Factor, as well as Borderlands 4 from 2K and Gearbox Software, will join the list of games with HDR10+ Gaming.

Expansion of HDR10+ Technology

According to alliance data, HDR10+ is already operational in over 13,000 models of televisions, monitors, and players, with more than 160 companies involved in the program. Interestingly, PlayStation and Xbox still do not support HDR10+, which limits the development of this technology on consoles.

Support for HDR10+ Gaming has been added to Unreal Engine 5.2.1 and newer versions in October 2023, which will facilitate implementation in new productions.

In the television market, HDR10+ is supported by Samsung, TCL, Hisense, Panasonic, and Philips, while LG and Sony have stuck with basic HDR10 and Dolby Vision.
