Intel Serpent Lake may connect the CPU with Nvidia RTX graphics.

New leaks suggest that Intel is preparing something much bigger than a regular processor. The upcoming Serpent Lake chip is reportedly set to integrate Nvidia RTX-class graphics directly into the chip. If confirmed, this could completely change the way laptops are designed, especially those focused on gaming and AI.

The combination of Intel CPU and RTX GPU could mean a huge leap in performance

Serpent Lake is set to combine Intel's new CPU architecture with RTX graphics (likely based on the upcoming Rubin architecture). This means that instead of a separate, power-hungry graphics card, everything will be in one chip. Such a design could significantly improve communication between the CPU and GPU, reduce power consumption, and simultaneously offer performance closer to desktops in thin laptops.

According to leaks, the chip is expected to offer as many as 24 cores (8 performance cores and 16 power-efficient cores) and support for very fast LPDDR6 memory. Additionally, there's a new generation of CPU cores (including Copper Shark), which suggests that Intel is preparing for a major technological leap. Importantly, the company is not completely abandoning its own Arc graphics – this is more of an experiment with a specific model.

Premiere not for a few years, but the direction of change in the industry is already visible

For now, patience is required. Serpent Lake is set to appear only in 2028–2029, following earlier generations like Nova Lake and Titan Lake. Nonetheless, the very idea shows the direction the market is heading: integration, greater efficiency, and less reliance on separate components.

Intel may be preparing one of the biggest changes in laptop history. The combination of CPU and RTX in one chip could make gaming and AI laptops significantly thinner, more efficient, and more energy-saving.
