Huawei has officially begun selling its latest premium tablet on the European market. The MatePad Pro Max launched first in Germany, where the company also prepared attractive bonuses for first customers. The device is set to compete with flagship tablets from Apple and Samsung, offering an exceptionally slim chassis and extensive productivity-enhancing features. The manufacturer is also focusing on a high-end OLED display and powerful internals. All signs indicate that Huawei wants to further strengthen its presence in the premium device segment.
MatePad Pro Max focuses on an exceptionally thin design and an OLED display
Huawei emphasises that MatePad Pro Max is the thinnest and one of the lightest tablets in its class. The body is just 4.7 mm thick and the device weighs 499 grams, making it comfortable for both work and travel. The manufacturer fitted a 13.2-inch Flexible OLED PaperMatte display with a resolution of 3000 × 2000 pixels. The screen offers a 144 Hz refresh rate and brightness up to 1600 nits, intended to provide comfortable use even in very bright environments. A special coating reduces reflections and improves readability. The tablet runs HarmonyOS 4.3, which allows multiple apps to be used simultaneously in multitasking mode. Huawei also equipped the device with the desktop version of the WPS Office suite with AI-powered features. The manufacturer says this means the tablet can successfully replace a laptop for everyday work. The package is rounded out by a 10,400 mAh battery with support for 66 W fast charging. The tablet also offers Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and a USB-C 3.1 port.

European sales began in Germany. The base MatePad Pro Max is priced at 1099 euro, while the PaperMatte Edition with the Glide Keyboard costs 1299 euro. Huawei has also launched a promotion for those who buy by the end of July. Customers will receive, among other things, FreeBuds Pro 4 headphones, an M-Pencil Pro stylus, an extra year of warranty and a voucher worth 100 euro. The optional keyboard is equipped with six rows of keys and a slot for charging the stylus. The manufacturer hopes that combining a sleek design, a high-quality display and generous equipment will help it compete more effectively with Apple and Samsung devices. However, one of the biggest limitations remains the lack of Google services, which for some users may be a deciding factor when choosing a new tablet. Huawei is betting on developing its own ecosystem and wants to win customers over with expanded features and attractive extras.
