Artificial intelligence has become a top topic in the tech world, but not every implementation earns user recognition. According to a recent survey, as many as 96% of respondents declared that they do not use Apple Intelligence. This is a result that may be concerning, especially in the context of the growing popularity of tools like Google Gemini or ChatGPT. Although Apple remains one of the most powerful tech companies in the world, its approach to AI seems less convincing than that of its competitors. Many users do not see real value in the current system features. The question arises whether Apple has missed the boat in the race for dominance in AI.
AI that doesn't impress
Some users indicate that features like notification summaries and intelligent suggestions are not precise or groundbreaking enough. Instead of genuinely enhancing daily usage of the iPhone, they often remain an add-on that's easy to forego. Compared to more developed assistants based on language models, Apple's solution seems conservative.
The issue is not solely about quality but also about strategy. Competitors are openly advancing chatbots and generative AI, while Apple continues to balance between privacy and functionality, not offering a clear leader in its category.
Does Apple have anything to worry about?
President Tim Cook may not feel direct financial threats, but the situation looks less comfortable in terms of image. The market is increasingly talking about "AI phones," and consumers expect visible benefits from the implementation of artificial intelligence. If iOS 27 indeed brings delays or fails to offer significant improvements, Siri may become a symbol of unfulfilled promises.
On the other hand, there are signals that Apple is considering deeper integration with Gemini, which could enhance the system's capabilities. However, that is still a tune for the future.
96% negative responses in the survey is a warning sign, even for the giant from Cupertino. Apple still has the resources and brand to catch up, but the current features of Apple Intelligence are not generating enthusiasm. If the company wants to stay at the centre of the AI revolution, it needs to offer something more than cosmetic improvements.
