Google Home with a major update. Gemini in Spanish and better smart home control.

Google is developing its smart home solutions, and the latest update shows that AI is playing an increasingly significant role here. Google Home is getting new features related to Gemini, which are designed to simplify device control and make it more natural. The biggest change is the expanded support for languages, but that's just part of the news. The update also improves the way we communicate with devices and introduces more intuitive controls. Overall, it’s heading towards a home that actually “understands” what you’re saying to it.

Gemini becomes more accessible and intelligent

Google introduces Spanish language support in Gemini for Home, launching in Mexico and expanding access in the USA and Canada. Additionally, AI is also making its way into children’s accounts with parental controls, which means broader use in daily life. At the same time, the system better understands commands – there’s no need to use exact names for colours or devices anymore, as Gemini can interpret more natural language, such as “ocean colour” or “moonlight”.

Greater control over the smart home

The new features also include more precise device control, from setting temperature and humidity to specific commands for appliances like ovens. Gemini recognises devices faster and better distinguishes, for example, a lamp from light, which translates to more efficient functioning. Additionally, more detailed news summaries appear in Live mode, along with improvements to the app on Android, enhancing the user experience with the system.

Google is developing smart home technology towards a more natural and intelligent operation, where AI understands the user instead of requiring precise commands. This is another step towards a home that operates more “on its own” rather than on command.
