Forza Horizon 6 launched with a massive result. Players headed to Japan before the release.

Calendar 5/19/2026

Forza Horizon 6 hasn't officially debuted yet, but it's already achieving impressive player activity results. Early access for holders of the Premium edition started on May 15 and quickly attracted crowds of racing fans.

Over 170 thousand players simultaneously on Steam

According to initial data, Forza Horizon 6 has already surpassed 172 thousand concurrent players on the Steam platform just a few hours after the launch of Advanced Access. This is an impressive result, especially since the full release of the game will take place on May 19. Players gain early access by purchasing the more expensive Premium edition costing $119.99. The new Forza has also quickly jumped to second place on Steam's bestseller list, only surpassed by Subnautica 2, which also had a very strong launch.

Forza Horizon 6 surpasses its predecessor

The results of the new release are significantly better than Forza Horizon 5. The previous installment of the series peaked at around 81,000 concurrent players on Steam, meaning Horizon 6 has already exceeded it by more than 100 percent. The true number of players is likely even higher, as Steam data does not include Xbox Series X|S users or Microsoft Store on PC.

Forza Horizon 6 moves the action to Japan and offers a huge open world inspired by the local culture, cities, and racing tracks. The game features over 550 cars, extensive customization, and new social features. Microsoft is heavily promoting the release as one of the biggest Xbox launches of 2026, and all signs indicate that the full launch of the game could be record-breaking for the entire series.

Forza Horizon 6 had a great start even before its official release. The game achieved over 170 thousand concurrent players on Steam and clearly surpasses the results of the previous installment in the series.
