Disney+ is mainly associated with the biggest brands and loud premieres, but the platform's catalogue is not lacking in less obvious titles that can pleasantly surprise. Here are three series that weren't so widely promoted, but definitely deserve an evening viewing.
The Clearing
This Australian psychological thriller tells the story of a woman who must confront a traumatic past linked to a mysterious cult. The series builds tension slowly, focusing on an unsettling atmosphere, ambiguity, and a suffocating environment. It’s a suggestion for viewers who enjoy dark stories inspired by real events.
Black Cake
The story starts with a recording left by a deceased mother, revealing long-hidden secrets. The action takes viewers between the Caribbean and the United States, blending family drama with elements of mystery. “Black Cake” emphasises emotions and the gradual uncovering of the past, rather than fast-paced action.
Extraordinary
In a world where almost everyone has superpowers, the main character is the only one who hasn’t discovered any talent within herself. This British comedy series playfully subverts the conventions of superhero cinema. Instead of epic battles, we have irony, absurdity, and very human problems.
