In just 24 hours, on 19 March 2026, Death Stranding 2 will officially land on personal computers PC! To mark the occasion, the studio has released a new trailer “No Rain, No Rainbow,” which confirms that the PC version is not just a simple port, but also a substantial amount of new content that will also be available on the same day as a free update for PlayStation 5.
Hardcore Mode and VR Training
The most interesting new feature is the mode “to the wilder”. If the basic game felt like a walk in the park for you, then here Kojima challenges the most dedicated. This is an extreme level of difficulty, where the environment is deadly, and the enemies do not forgive mistakes. Importantly, once you set out on the journey in this mode, there’s no turning back – you must deliver the package to the end.
For those looking to hone their combat skills, a new zone called “Trapped in a Strange Realm” has been added. These are VR training sessions where you can repeat the key battles of Sam (e.g. those against Neil). By completing them, you'll unlock new items, such as unique bandanas. The game will also feature a “chiral cat” (Chiral Feline), which will visit us in the private room and will be available in photo mode.
Technical “meat”
The team from Nixxes Software is responsible for the PC port, so we can be quite confident about the optimisation. The game supports pretty much everything essential from the start: Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS, including frame generation. If you have powerful hardware, you'll be able to enable Ray Tracing, which will improve reflections on water and tar, as well as add more realistic shadows in corners. The game will support the 32:9 (Super-ultrawide) format, and cutscenes will be displayed in 21:9 format. A really nice addition is full support for the DualSense controller – when you plug it in via cable to your PC, you'll feel the haptics and the resistance of the triggers just like on the console.
At the end, a little bonus: if you link your accounts, you'll receive a special suit inspired by the colours of PlayStation and unique patches for your backpack. The launch is tomorrow, so it's worth checking if your graphics cards are ready for Sam's return.
