This year's Coachella broadcast promises to be exceptional. YouTube will showcase the festival not only in 4K but also in a completely new way, using Google Pixel smartphones to record some of the footage. This is another step towards more modern and accessible concert streaming. The broadcast starts on 10 April, and everything will be available for free online.
4K, multiview and vertical broadcasts are changing the way we watch concerts
Google is focusing on a complete festival experience without leaving home. Selected stages will be streamed in 4K quality, and the multiview feature will allow viewers to watch up to four stages simultaneously on their TV. Additionally, there will be vertical broadcasts recorded with Pixels, aimed mainly at mobile users and YouTube Shorts.
New features and more interaction for viewers
Viewers will also have access to a 24-hour channel "Coachella TV" with archived performances and highlights. There will also be an AI-powered concert planning app and integration with merchandise purchases directly from the stream. This shows that YouTube wants to make Coachella more than just a regular livestream.
Coachella 2026 on YouTube is not just concerts, but a complete online experience. 4K, multiview, and recordings from Pixels show how much the way we watch live events is changing.
