BlizzCon 2026 returns as an in-person event after a break. The event will take place on 12 and 13 September at the Anaheim Convention Center and is expected to draw around 37,000 attendees. Blizzard has prepared attractions tied to the company's key franchises, along with numerous community activities. The programme includes game demos, panels, cosplay contests and esports competitions. Those who can't make it to California will be able to watch the main events online for free.
Blizzard has prepared a massive event for fans
This year’s BlizzCon is set to be one of the biggest editions in the event’s history, with organisers planning to use virtually the entire Anaheim Convention Center. Attendees will have access to around 1.8 million square feet of space. The main stage returns to Hall D, the convention centre’s largest hall, where there will be over 7,500 seats for viewers. That’s where the biggest presentations and many of the major events will take place. One of the main attractions will once again be the Darkmoon Faire, known from World of Warcraft. In 2026 it will move to the North Hall on the second level and occupy over 70,000 square feet. Organisers say this will be the largest Darkmoon Faire ever staged at BlizzCon. Attendees can look forward to pin trading, collectible items, plush toys, pet adoption and a Trading Post. There will also be a new attraction: a pond where people can “fish” for ducks. The Hearthstone Tavern will return too, expanded from the previous edition. Inside it will feature, among other things, an Artist Nook, Doula Dev and a non-alcoholic drinks bar. Blizzard has also prepared six stages running over two days, which will host panels, presentations, meetups, cosplay competitions and esports matches.
More than 1,300 gaming stations and major esports tournaments
BlizzCon 2026 will also be an opportunity to try out Blizzard’s game demos in person. The event will feature over 1,300 gaming stations. Organisers have also announced the return of Blizzard Arcade, a zone dedicated to the company’s older titles. Among the games on show will be StarCraft and Heroes of the Storm. Diablo fans can visit the Hell’s Ink booth, where game‑inspired tattoos will once again be available. There will also be meet‑and‑greets with developers, esports players, cosplayers and other community figures. A major part of the event will be the competitions, including the returning Overwatch World Cup. World of Warcraft will host the Arena World Championship and the Mythic Dungeon International, while Hearthstone will be home to the Hearthstone Masters Tour World Championship. For the first time at BlizzCon there will also be the Classic Cup, featuring legendary players and teams from esports history. The combined prize pool for all the esports tournaments held during the event will exceed $1.2 million.
BlizzCon 2026 will be free to watch
Blizzard has also confirmed that the BlizzCon livestream will be available free of charge to anyone interested. No special ticket or pass will be required to follow the event online. Official streams will be available on Blizzard’s channels on YouTube and Twitch, including channels dedicated to Warcraft, Diablo and Overwatch. The opening ceremony broadcast will begin on 12 September at 10:30 am Pacific Time, with coverage running through to 7:00 pm Pacific Time on 13 September. Blizzard will not be broadcasting every minute of the event, as some attractions will remain available only in person. Online viewers will be able to watch, among other things, the opening ceremony, panels, Community Night and esports competitions. In total, organisers are promising more than 117 hours of streams and event-related content. Viewers will also be able to earn in-game rewards for watching selected streams on YouTube and Twitch. Specific rewards will depend on the game, platform and type of stream.
BlizzCon 2026 will take place on 12 and 13 September in Anaheim and will be the first major in-person edition of the event in a long time. Blizzard has lined up a huge range of attractions, with more than 1,300 game stations, six stages and numerous community events. Esports will also be on the bill, including the Overwatch World Cup and the first Classic Cup, and the total prize pool will exceed $1.2 million. The main events can be watched online for free, so this year’s BlizzCon won’t be limited to people who travel to Anaheim.
