Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is gearing up for a massive update. Season 03 kicks off on 2 April and brings one of the biggest content packages in recent times. New maps, modes, weapons, and changes in Warzone are just the beginning. The biggest surprise, however, is the decision to make one of the modes completely free.
Endgame for free and a new direction for gameplay
The most significant change is that the Endgame mode is moving to a free-to-play model - at least for a limited time. This is a cooperative PvE mode where players team up, take on bosses, and level up their characters over successive attempts. The progression system allows unlocking new skills and equipment, making each playthrough potentially different. Also new are the so-called Operations, which are sets of objectives spread across several sessions. The first of these, Operation Poison Pill, introduces additional rewards, new challenges, and special bosses. This is a clear step towards keeping players longer and increasing replayability.
New maps and multiplayer modes
Season 03 adds a lot of new content to multiplayer. Starting off, there are the maps Beacon and Abyss, as well as returning locations known from earlier versions. There are also new modes like Demolition, and more gameplay variations throughout the season, including more experimental options like parkour-based Freerun or Freeze Tag. The changes also include equipment – there’s a new Scorestreak that can deal area damage even through walls, which could significantly affect the gameplay balance.
Warzone and Zombies also getting a solid update
The update doesn't skip Warzone. A new location is appearing on the Verdansk map, set to change the dynamics of combat and introduce fresh areas to explore. The Zombies mode is also receiving new maps and content right at the start of the season, with more elements expected to be released during its duration. This shows that Season 03 is not just focused on one mode, but is expanding the entire Call of Duty ecosystem simultaneously.
Season 03 in Black Ops 7 is one of the biggest updates in recent months. New maps, modes, and free access to Endgame show that the creators want to attract both new players and retain current ones. If you’re looking for fresh content in Call of Duty, the start of April looks really strong.
