EA and DICE will reveal a trailer for the new military shooter later this week. The latest installment of the long-running Battlefield series has finally received a name. Welcome Battlefield 6 – and on Thursday, we can expect a big trailer that will show more details about the upcoming FPS game. And is that New York on fire in the teaser?
Open tests – featuring a hot topic of class weapons
EA has announced that Battlefield 6 will receive an open beta following closed tests. One of the mechanics being tested will be the selection of weapons for individual classes – should the classes be restricted (e.g., scout only with a sniper rifle), or should there be full freedom? The gaming community is strongly divided.
The previous installment in the series, Battlefield 2042, was a disappointment for many fans. The game only reached an acceptable level after numerous updates, but trust in the brand was significantly damaged. EA doesn't hide the fact that the new installment is meant to rebuild the series' reputation.
Huge budget and chaos behind the scenes
According to reports, Battlefield 6 has a budget exceeding 400 million dollars, and the production has been full of challenges. To meet expectations, EA has engaged many of its internal teams and is returning to the style of Battlefield 4 – realistic, modern warfare. Soon we will find out if it was worth it.
