The Amazon company has started rolling out a major update of the Amazon Fire TV app on the Android system. The new version introduces a refreshed interface and features designed to make using the streaming platform easier. The update is available as a free upgrade and is set to change the way users interact with Fire TV on smartphones.
App as the control centre for Fire TV
One of the most important changes is that the app is meant to serve as a companion for Fire TV on the TV. Users can browse content and add it to their watch list from their phone even before turning on the TV. This makes it easier to plan what to watch, and then launch the selected movies or series directly on the TV. The app has also received the feature of a fully-fledged remote control. If the TV or Fire TV device is logged into the same Amazon account, the phone can replace the traditional remote. This allows for, among other things: controlling the Fire TV menu, launching movies and series, adding content to the watch list, and quickly searching for new productions.
New Interface Look
The changes in the app are part of a larger refresh of the Fire TV platform. The interface has been simplified and now features new typography and a clearer menu. Amazon is also promising better content recommendations to help quickly find new movies and series.
The new Fire TV interface has already appeared on devices such as:
Fire TV Stick 4K Max
Fire TV Stick 4K Plus
Fire TV Omni Mini-LED TVs
Amazon has announced that other devices will receive the update in the coming months this spring.
The new version of the Amazon Fire TV app is set to make using the platform simpler and more convenient. With the ability to browse content, manage the watchlist, and control the TV from a smartphone, users can enjoy Fire TV even more easily. The update is starting to roll out to users worldwide and will gradually be available on additional devices.
