Xiaomi hasn't shown its RGB TVs in Europe yet, but news is already coming from the Far East about upgraded versions. The Supreme Edition reaches up to 5,500 nits of brightness, offers a 4K 180 Hz refresh rate and a 360 Hz mode for gamers. It also includes an enhanced 170 W audio system.
RGB-Mini LED and 4,860 local dimming zones
The TV uses an RGB-Mini LED panel in which separate light sources handle red, green, and blue. Xiaomi says this provides full coverage of the BT.2020 color space. The Supreme Edition is said to offer up to 5,500 nits of brightness. Image processing is handled by the XM9000 chipset. The manufacturer also applied a matte coating. The number of local dimming zones depends on screen size. The 65-inch model has 2,160 zones, while the largest 98-inch version has as many as 4,860. The TV also supports VRR, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and features four HDMI 2.1 ports.
170 W for movies and 360 Hz for gamers
Xiaomi equipped the Supreme Edition with a 4.1.2 audio system delivering 170 W. The set was tuned by Harman and supports Dolby Atmos. That's a clear step up from the standard version, which has 130 W in a 2.1.2 configuration. The TV runs natively at 4K/180 Hz, and in a special gaming mode can reach 360 Hz. It also ships with HyperOS 4, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Xiaomi is currently selling the TV only in China. Prices start at 6,299 yuan for the 65-inch model and go up to 13,999 yuan for the 98-inch model. The manufacturer has not yet confirmed availability in other markets.
