Xbox may restore old games through the cloud. Leaks indicate the return of classics.

New leaks suggest that Microsoft may be preparing something that gamers have been waiting for years—a return of older, removed games. Data found in Xbox Cloud Gaming indicates that the company is testing the ability to run classics in the cloud. Among the titles noticed were, among others, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and other games from the Xbox 360 era. Although everything quickly disappeared from the system, the frequency of such cases suggests that this is more than just coincidence.

Cloud as a Way to Bring Back Forgotten Games

Instead of relying solely on hardware compatibility, Microsoft could focus on streaming. This would allow older games to run on new devices without the need for installation or adaptation to new hardware. This is especially important because many classics have been removed from stores or only run on older consoles.

Tests are ongoing, but questions remain

Although the idea sounds great, not everything is clear. Streaming can introduce delays, and the performance of older games in the cloud still remains unknown. There are also speculations that Microsoft may create a new level of Game Pass focused on classics. For now, however, the company has officially confirmed nothing.

Xbox may be close to solving one of the biggest problems for gamers – access to old games. If the leaks are confirmed, classics may return in a modern form thanks to the cloud.
